Mona, a decentralized metaverse platform, recently held the biggest build-a-thon competition users have ever seen! The winners have finally been announced, and their creations are jaw dropping.
The event was especially created and held to encourage designers, architects, and artists to create new virtual worlds. The three themes that were being followed by creators were; spaces to gather, spaces to display, and spaces to perform. The spaces to gather category invites the creators to create places intended for meetings and or sharing ideas. Spaces to display was asking for a space where artworks could be presented in an appealing and aesthetic manner. Last but not least, spaces to perform where event spaces were created for live performances. Those were the only guidelines participants were given for the competition.
After holding a successful event, Mona founders are hoping it will prompt more designers into creating interactive and social 3D environments for the emerging digital universe that exists parallel to the real world. The event had $250k in prizes, 2,000 builders participated, and resulted in over 200 spaces being submitted. There are so many spaces to see and explore as everyone’s individual creativity can be seen. I recommend visiting monaverse.art/results and taking your time looking through all of them.
Technology will continue to grow and advance. Thanks to that, artist’s canvas are just becoming infinite, our only limit is our imagination.
